AHK Workers Stage Strike Over Lack of Support and Energy Policy

AHK workers staged a two-hour warning strike (8:00-10:00) protesting the lack of support from the government and RAEK. Representatives of the workers, Dimitris Konstantinou and Kyriakos Ttafounas, accused the government of apathy and the absence of an energy policy, leaving AHK exposed to pressures without the necessary tools. They expressed strong dissatisfaction with the approval of Cyta's involvement in the energy sector, considering it unprecedented and unfair to AHK. Furthermore, they referred to the Auditor General's report, which, according to them, proves that AHK was deliberately excluded from renewable energy sources, while officials did not work in the public interest. They do not rule out escalating measures if their demands are not met. The strike did not affect the electricity supply to consumers, with exceptions for shift and standby personnel.
