AEGEAN: Flight Delays and Cancellations Due to HCAA Radio Frequency Issue

AEGEAN Airlines experienced significant flight disruptions on Sunday, January 4th, due to a technical issue with the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) radio frequency systems. All flights to and from Greek airports were fully suspended from 09:35 to 12:20. Subsequently, capacity was drastically reduced to just 20% of normal levels. This resulted in major delays and the cancellation of 48 flights, impacting thousands of passengers, particularly during the peak travel period following the holidays. The airline apologizes for the inconvenience and expects operations to stabilize on Monday morning, provided the HCAA system is fully restored.
