Admission of Weaknesses

The Minister of Interior has taken the initiative to address the weaknesses in the country's shelter system. Initially, he acknowledged the shortcomings and ordered an inspection of all shelters, publicizing the results. He then promoted a new approach focused on utilizing public, municipal, ecclesiastical and private spaces, such as businesses, to accommodate citizens in times of need. At the same time, a proposal is being promoted to provide incentives for new constructions to provide space for shelters, mainly underground parking spaces. The same tactic is being followed in Civil Defense, where weaknesses and gaps were identified, resulting in a study being commissioned from experts to upgrade the service to civil protection. Corrective actions are expected to be announced soon, demonstrating the Ministry's commitment to improving the readiness and effectiveness of the citizen protection system. This approach is characterized by realism and a willingness to address problems, rather than hide them.
