4.5 Million Tourists Visited Cyprus in 2025 – 500,000 More Than 2024

Tourism in Cyprus showed significant momentum in 2025, with total tourist arrivals reaching 4,534,073, an increase of 12.2% compared to 2024. This increase also reflects a positive trend in travel by residents of Cyprus abroad. In December 2025, tourist arrivals amounted to 156,959, up 18.0% compared to December 2024. The main source of tourism for the month was Israel (19.1%), followed by the United Kingdom (19.0%), Poland (11.3%), Germany (7.4%) and Greece (7.3%). Regarding the purpose of travel, 56.4% of tourists visited Cyprus for holidays, 32.0% to visit friends or relatives, and 11.3% for business reasons. These percentages differ from December 2024, where the corresponding percentages were 49.6%, 37.5% and 12.7%. At the same time, travel by residents of Cyprus abroad increased by 14.9% in December 2025, reaching 193,007. The main destination countries were Greece (28.4%), the United Kingdom (11.0%) and Poland (6.5%). Holidays were the main purpose of travel for Cypriots (69.3%), followed by business reasons (14.9%) and studies (15.0%).
