€31 Million in Refugee Fund Remains Unused, Returned to State

€31 million from the Cyprus Refugee Allocation Fund (FIKV) remained unused and was returned to the state in 2025, as it was not absorbed for the needs of the refugee community. The total amount of unused funds over the past five years amounts to €210 million. The President of the Parliamentary Committee on Refugees, Nikos Kettiros, stated that AKEL had proposed removing time limits for submitting applications to FIKV, but the proposal was not accepted by other parties. The discussion focused on the delay in the natural gas project in Vasiliko, with the Minister of Energy committing to answer specific questions at the next Committee meeting.
