2025 Was Second Warmest Year on Record for Greece

According to the climatebook team, 2025 was the second warmest year in Greece since meteorological records began, at least since 1890. The average temperature was above the average for the 1991-2020 period for 72% of the year's days, with 262 days recording positive temperature deviations. The summer of 2025 was the third warmest on record, and March saw record temperatures. The analysis shows a clear acceleration of warming, with 6 of the 7 warmest years having been recorded in the last seven years and the 3 warmest in the last three years.
