A 32-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court for drug trafficking. The man was arrested in April 2025 when 94.960 kg of cannabis and 15 kg of cocaine were found and seized in five postal packages destined for him. The drugs were discovered at a transport company during the delivery of the packages in Larnaca. Members of the YKAN (Cyprus Drug Enforcement Agency) inspected the packages and discovered the narcotics. The 32-year-old was immediately arrested, and the drugs were seized. Laboratory tests confirmed that the seized drugs were 94 kilograms and 960 grams of pure cannabis and 15 kilograms of pure cocaine. The case was heard in the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court, where the 32-year-old was found guilty of illegal possession of drugs with intent to supply to another person. The court imposed a 20-year prison sentence on the convicted man. The case was investigated by the Larnaca Provincial Unit of the YKAN.
