15-Day Consultation Period for Fixed-Term Employees in Educational Support Programs

The Parliamentary Committee on Education has decided to grant the Ministry of Education a 15-day period for consultation regarding the regulation of employment for fixed-term employees in Private Education Centers (KIE) and other support programs. The discussion focuses on the lack of a regulated recruitment and employment process for these employees over the years. At the same time, the Committee discussed the problems and needs of the Clerks' sector and the school secretariats, where an unequal distribution of responsibilities is observed between the Ministry of Education and the School Boards. Solving this issue is considered important for the smooth functioning of schools. Furthermore, it was decided to conduct a study to assess the actual staffing needs of schools with clerks, which will begin in early February and be completed by the end of June, at a cost of approximately 50,000 euros. The study will be awarded to an external agency. DISY proposed the continuation of the Ministry of Education's consultation with all stakeholders, emphasizing that the DISY government had abolished the public procurement policy and paved the way for the offer of contracts in these programs. The goal is to complete work on the bill before the end of the Parliament's session, by April 2, 2026.
