12 Arrests Island-Wide in Proactive Police Operations

The Cyprus Police carried out island-wide proactive operations during the previous night, aimed at preventing criminal activity and protecting citizens. The operations included an increased police presence in key areas and targeted checks. A total of twelve (12) individuals were arrested for various offenses, including illegal stay in the Republic, illegal possession of property, outstanding warrants, illegal employment, and possession of burglary tools. In addition, four (4) vehicles were impounded due to traffic violations. Checks were carried out on 29 premises, resulting in 12 being reported for various violations. On the road network, more than 540 checks were carried out, with 110 reports for traffic violations, of which 37 were for speeding. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing and enhanced proactive plan by the Police, with increased presence, targeted checks and immediate action in all provinces, in order to prevent crime and enhance the sense of security of citizens.
