High Dust Levels Affecting Cyprus - Affected Areas

High dust concentrations are being observed in the atmosphere across Cyprus, according to measurements from the Labour Inspection Department's Air Quality Monitoring Network. The public, and especially vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and patients, are advised to avoid outdoor activities until the phenomenon subsides. Employers are also urged to take appropriate safety measures for their employees working in open spaces, including the use of personal protective equipment. Hourly dust concentration levels, recorded at 8:00 a.m., vary significantly by region, with the highest values in Paphos (180.2 μg/m3) and Agia Marina Xyliato (178.6 μg/m3). The dust contains fine particles that can negatively affect human health, making protection essential.
