Investigation Launched into Serious Traffic Accident – 30-Year-Old Driver Suffers Amputation

The Limassol Traffic Police and Episkopi Police Station are investigating the circumstances of a serious traffic accident that occurred at midnight on the Limassol – Paphos highway, heading towards Limassol. The accident happened when a car driven by a 30-year-old Cypriot man veered off course and collided with a metal guardrail near the exit to the village of Erimi. The driver was extricated by the Fire Service and immediately transported to Limassol Hospital, where he was found to have suffered an amputation of his legs. His condition is described as very serious. Authorities are trying to determine the exact causes that led to the vehicle deviating and the subsequent collision. The accident occurred on a section of the highway not known for frequent accidents, intensifying the need to investigate the circumstances. Limassol Traffic Police are considering all possible scenarios, including human error, mechanical failure, or adverse weather conditions.
