Athens Taxi Drivers Announce 48-Hour Strike

Taxi drivers in Attica, Greece, are proceeding with a new 48-hour strike on Tuesday, January 20th and Wednesday, January 21st, protesting to defend their professional rights. The strike is a continuation of the recent three-day nationwide strike by the industry. Simultaneously, a sectoral information event is scheduled for Tuesday at the Peristeri Exhibition Center. The Attica Taxi Drivers' Union (SATA) announced that it held meetings with representatives of opposition parties (PASOK, SYRIZA, Greek Solution, KKE), where the problems faced by the industry were presented and assurances of support and initiative were received.
