Smooth Relocation of Akrotiri Students to Kolossi

The relocation of students from Akrotiri to the B' Primary School of Kolossi went smoothly on the first day, according to the Mayor of Kourion, Pantelis Georgiou, and the President of the Akrotiri Primary School Parents and Guardians Association, Paulina Argyrou. The process of approving the use of buses from a private company is underway, with the expectation that student transportation will begin tomorrow. The transportation issue appears to have been resolved with the finding of buses that meet the required safety standards. The President of the Parents Association expressed satisfaction with the children's adaptation to the new school, emphasizing that classes did not need to be split due to the availability of six classrooms. The process of creating student lists and obtaining the necessary parental consent is ongoing. The Municipality of Kourion has undertaken to cover the transportation costs, and thanks were expressed to the School Board, the First Education Officer, and the school Inspector for their cooperation and understanding in addressing the problem that arose after the decision for mandatory evacuation. The entire process comes as a response to the concerns expressed by parents, as recorded in a testimony from a mother from Akrotiri, who expressed her children's fear of returning to the area.
