President Christodoulides: "52 Years Ago We Had an Invasion... The First Thing That Should Have Been Done Was Shelters"

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, stated that he is not satisfied with the state of shelters in Cyprus and that further decisions will be taken to strengthen them at the next session of the Council of Ministers. The President emphasized that Cyprus, having experienced invasion and occupation 52 years ago, should have prioritized the construction and maintenance of shelters. He acknowledged that there is an increase in the percentage of shelters, but this is not enough. Specifically, the President stated that the situation is not at the level it should be and that additional measures will be taken to strengthen the shelters at the next session of the Council of Ministers.
