The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, emphasized the significant economic opportunities between Cyprus and Bahrain during the first Cyprus-Bahrain Business Forum. He highlighted the untapped potential and the strategic position of the two countries as bridges between regions and markets. President Christodoulides referred to the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU and his intention to strengthen relations between the EU and the Gulf, considering Bahrain as a key partner. He expressed his belief that the Cypriot Presidency and Bahrain's presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council-EU in 2026, as well as the second EU-GCC Summit, will be opportunities to deepen political dialogue and economic cooperation. He stressed that Cyprus offers Bahraini investors a stable and reliable development platform, with full access to the Single Market and the Eurozone. President Christodoulides mentioned Cyprus's competitive tax system, the digitization of public services, and efforts to reduce bureaucracy as factors creating a predictable and reliable environment for businesses. He highlighted the potential for further cooperation in areas such as financial services, investment, technology, construction, and infrastructure. Furthermore, he emphasized that Bahrain serves as a strategic gateway for Cypriot companies seeking to expand their presence in the Gulf and the Middle East, stressing the mutually beneficial nature of the economic relationship. In conclusion, he called for further support and expansion of this cooperation for the benefit of the companies, economies, and peoples of the two countries.
