Haralambos Harilaou: Stabilization in Flu A Hospitalizations, Decrease in Emergency Room Cases

The spokesperson of the Cyprus Public Health Insurance Organisation (CPHIO), Haralambos Harilaou, stated that the situation regarding hospital admissions of patients with Flu A is stable, while a decrease in cases is being observed in the Accident and Emergency Departments (A&E). However, there are still patients with mild symptoms, as well as cases requiring hospitalization in high dependency units or intensive care units. Mr. Harilaou emphasized that the situation is evaluated daily and all necessary measures are being taken to provide appropriate care to each patient. He acknowledged that an increase in Flu A cases was expected during this period, but assured that the number of cases does not cause concern. The CPHIO spokesperson's statement highlights the continued readiness of the healthcare system to deal with Flu A, despite the decrease observed in A&E departments. Daily assessment of the situation and the implementation of necessary measures are key pillars of the strategy to combat the disease.
