Chaos with the GESY System: 'Doctors' Work is Often Obstructed' - Demand Immediate Resolution

A survey by the Pan Cypriot Medical Association (PIMS) reveals serious problems with the Information System of the General Health System (GESY). More than 9 out of 10 doctors report interruptions or unavailability of the system, which often last from 1 to 4 hours and occur weekly or even daily. The survey shows that these interruptions hinder the work of doctors, cause delays in appointments, accumulate patients, and make it impossible to provide service. Doctors are forced to postpone tasks and work longer hours. In addition, medical protocols are characterized as incomprehensible and bureaucratic. According to the survey, 62% of doctors experience slow system performance, while 82% report technical problems such as disconnections and errors. The most problematic functions concern the search for patient history, prescribing, and issuing referrals. PIMS demands immediate and definitive resolution of the system's technical problems, as its stable operation is essential for providing quality health services.
