Fytiris: Calls on Annie Alexoui to Testify - The Three Options Available to Her

Minister of Justice Kostas Fytiris stated that Annie Alexoui has three options to submit testimony and provide evidence: to testify to the Police, to testify abroad at a Cypriot Republic outpost, or to testify through a lawyer or directly to him, keeping a copy. He added that the evidence can also be provided through a trusted person. Mr. Fytiris mentioned that the possibility of lifting the 13 warrants outstanding against Annie Alexoui is being considered and that the appointment of a criminal investigator to investigate the case will be examined, in cooperation with the Legal Service. Annie Alexoui, speaking on the "Protoseleido" show, expressed her intention to take legal action, even at the European level, and accused the Cypriot authorities of manipulation. She argued that the Cyprus Police has no jurisdiction to take her testimony abroad and that she does not accept a suspension of the warrants without clear assurances. She also expressed critical views towards the Minister of Justice and the Attorney General, questioning the independence of the investigation. She spoke of a loss of trust and argued that the evidence she has made public should already have been seriously investigated.
