Cyprus Faces Minimal Terror Threat, Serves as Dispute Resolution Hub

Minister of Justice and Public Order, Konstantinos Fytiris, stated that the risk of terrorist attacks or Cyprus being targeted is very small, due to the country's role as a center for peacekeeping and humanitarian operations. The Police are constantly taking measures at potential targets, depending on geopolitical developments and involving the interests of countries such as Iran, the USA and Britain. Mr. Fytiris stated that Cyprus is a hub for peacekeeping and humanitarian operations and has good relations with all countries in the region, which is why it serves as a center for dispute resolution. Regarding organized crime, the Minister stated that the latest statistics show improvement, with an increased number of arrests, while efforts are being made to internationalize the fight against organized crime and exchange information with other EU countries.
