Cyprus Introduces Emergency Measures for Migrants Due to Middle East Situation

The Deputy Ministry of Migration has announced the implementation of temporary emergency measures due to the crisis in the Middle East and its impact on air connections. The measures concern the extension of the validity of residence permits for third-country nationals stranded outside Cyprus and unable to return. Specifically, holders of residence permits, applicants for renewal, and holders of entry permits will be allowed to enter the Republic with their existing documents, subject to certain conditions regarding the duration of their stay outside Cyprus, until April 30, 2026. These measures are considered temporary and are justified by the emergency situation, while the Deputy Ministry will reassess the situation for possible extension depending on the circumstances. The extension applies to those who completed three months outside of Cyprus after February 28, 2026.
