Terror Suspect Linked to Hamas Arrested in Larnaca

A 25-year-old man, Kamel M., was arrested at Larnaca Airport based on a European arrest warrant issued by German authorities. Initially, the arrest was linked to a case of firearms and explosives trafficking. However, according to German and international media, Kamel M. is allegedly a member of Hamas and involved in planning terrorist attacks in Germany and other European countries. German authorities had already made arrests of members of the same network last autumn and in January. According to investigations, Kamel M. allegedly organized the transfer of 300 rounds of ammunition in August 2025, which were intended for potential attacks against Israeli or Jewish institutions. Kamel M. does not object to his extradition to Germany, where he will be brought before an investigator to decide on his detention. The extradition process is expected to be formal, provided there are no objections.
