Rape Case: Faidonos to Appear in Limassol Criminal Court – Restrictive Terms to Ensure Attendance

The rape case involving the suspended Mayor of Paphos, Faidonas Faidonos, will be registered in the Limassol Criminal Court. The decision to register the case in the Limassol court was deemed necessary due to serious reasons that prevent the trial from taking place in Paphos. The indictment is being prepared by the Police Prosecution Office and is expected to be completed tomorrow. Mr. Faidonos will be summoned to be formally charged in writing by the investigators of the case. Restrictive terms will be imposed on Mr. Faidonos to ensure his appearance in the Criminal Court. According to information, the indictment will include charges of rape, sexual assault, and abduction in a state of intoxication with the intent to commit a felony or misdemeanor, offenses that carry a life sentence. The case concerns an alleged rape that occurred in 2014. Businessman Theodoros Aristodimou had openly accused Mr. Faidonos of the incident on a RIK show in 2016, challenging him to file a defamation lawsuit.
