PASIKA Calls for Responsibility in Public Statements to Avoid Damage to Cyprus

The Pan-Cypriot Association of Entertainment Centers (PASIKA) is calling for responsibility in public statements, especially on social media, to avoid causing damage to Cyprus, particularly in the hospitality sector. PASIKA expresses concern about the exaggeration in public discussion and the ease with which citizens can express opinions that may cause panic or act as propaganda against the economy. The association emphasizes that superficiality and misperception of events create a negative climate that does not reflect reality. It highlights the need for responsible operation by all – citizens, institutions, and the media – with the aim of promoting Cyprus as a safe destination. PASIKA states that Cyprus has proven in the past that it can remain safe even during periods of regional tensions, and often served as a refuge for residents of neighboring countries. The presence of European forces in Cyprus is interpreted as an indication of international cooperation and preventive security measures, not as a sign of danger. It is acknowledged that the hospitality sector may face challenges due to potential increases in fuel, energy, and basic goods prices, but PASIKA expresses confidence that these challenges can be limited with responsible behavior from all.
