Argaka Dam Overflowed, TAW Appeals for Rational Water Use Despite Recent Rains

The Argaka Dam overflowed this morning around 8:30 AM, according to the Provincial Engineer of the Water Development Department. The dam has a capacity of 990,000 cubic meters of water and is part of the Chrysochous irrigation project, operating in conjunction with the Evretou, Agia Marina, and Pomos dams. Despite recent rainfall in Paphos, water reserves in the dams remain at low levels, making rational water management essential. The TAW appeals to citizens to be careful and limit water consumption to absolutely necessary uses, as the overflow of the dams does not mean complacency.
