Ministry of Education: No Child Left Behind in Class Due to Teacher Absence

The Minister of Education, Athena Michaelidou, assured that in the event of a teacher's absence in Primary Education, no child will be left outside the classroom. Explaining the issue of replacements, she stated that arrangements are in place for children to attend another class or be covered by other teachers, as well as replacement hours for teachers. She also referred to home education, which is provided to children with serious health problems, and emphasized that the Ministry is working to better organize and improve its quality, through the creation of protocols and training sessions. The minister noted that the problem lies with short-term absences, where there is less response from eligible candidates.
