Ministry of Education: No Child Will Be Left Behind in Case of Teacher Absence

The Minister of Education, Athena Michaelidou, assured that in the event of a teacher's absence in Primary Education, no child will be left out of class. The Minister stated that arrangements will be made, such as attending another class or being covered by another teacher, and that replacement hours are available for teachers. At the same time, she announced that the government is working to reorganize home education from the next school year, aiming to improve the criteria, methodology, and content. This process includes the drafting of protocols and the training of teachers. Finally, the Minister emphasized that they do not want to create a misleading picture regarding the lack of substitutes, as the problem mainly concerns short-term absences.
