DIPA Supports Rectification of Injustices for Women in the National Guard

The Democratic Rally (DIPA) expresses its support for rectifying the injustices suffered by women who served in the National Guard, initially as Volunteer Non-Commissioned Officers and subsequently as Permanent Non-Commissioned Officers. The President of DIPA, Marios Karoyian, pledged to mediate with the Ministry of Defense to discuss and correct the consequences that have arisen against them. DIPA recognizes the distortions and injustices in the career advancement of permanent non-commissioned officers and emphasizes the need for immediate political and administrative intervention. Mr. Karoyian stressed that it is necessary to take decisions that will ensure a fair and dignified future for the personnel of the National Guard. The Parliamentary Spokesperson of DIPA, Alekos Tryfonidis, informed that he is already discussing with the Minister of Defense and the Ministry of Finance to develop a plan for the rapid salary and pension restoration of female non-commissioned officers. In addition, he will submit a proposal for the promotions of permanent non-commissioned officers. DIPA states that it has worked to recently secure a large number of promotion positions for SYP (Contract Non-Commissioned Officers) and permanent non-commissioned officers, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the personnel of the National Guard.
