Tunisia: At Least Four Dead from Heavy Rainfall

Heavy rainfall has struck Tunisia, causing at least four deaths and paralyzing the country. The severe weather has led to road closures and disruptions to transportation, education, and public services. The affected areas are mainly in the north and eastern parts of the country. President Kais Saied ordered the mobilization of the army to assist in search and rescue operations. Civil defense services are facing equipment shortages as they attempt to pump water from flooded homes, particularly in Tunis, Bizerte, Nabeul, and Monastir. Railway services have also been partially suspended.
