Trilateral Meeting on Cyprus Issue: President to Present Comprehensive Proposal for Restarting Talks

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will participate in a trilateral meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Erhurman and the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy, Maria Angela Holguin, with the aim of restarting talks on the Cyprus issue. President Christodoulides is bringing a comprehensive proposal to return to the negotiating table, seeking to resume discussions from where they left off in Crans Montana and safeguard the gains made in previous negotiations. He considers Confidence-Building Measures as supplementary and not a substitute for the political process. The goal is an expanded meeting that will lead to the immediate resumption of talks.
