Trump: “Venezuela Monitoring Could Last Years”

US President Donald Trump stated that monitoring of Venezuela could last for years, in an interview with the New York Times. He reiterated his intention to help rebuild Venezuela, using the revenues from the country's oil. Trump mentioned that the US has good cooperation with interim President Delsy Rodríguez, following the operation that ousted Nicolás Maduro. According to Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, 100 people were killed during the US raid, while Maduro's wife was injured in the head and he himself in the leg. Interim President Rodríguez has declared a week of mourning for the members of the armed forces who lost their lives.
