Trump: Considering De-escalation in Iran, Approaching Our Goals

US President Donald Trump stated that he is considering “gradually reducing” military operations against Iran, while hours earlier he had emphasized that he does not want a ceasefire and that he is “exterminating the enemy”. Despite the contradictory statements, he hinted that he is ready to consider ending the war. He also referred to the need for “a lot of help” to open the Strait of Hormuz, suggesting the involvement of countries such as China and Japan. US media reports that the US military will deploy additional troops to the Middle East and is considering taking over or blocking the island of Khark in Iran, in order to force Tehran to open the Strait of Hormuz. A new poll shows that two-thirds of Americans believe Trump will order a large-scale ground war.
