Israel Strikes 'Heart' of Tehran – Targeting Iranian Decision-Making Headquarters

The Israel Defense Forces announced an attack on the “most important and central” headquarters of the Iranian regime in Tehran. The operation, carried out overnight, targeted government and military buildings, including the presidential office and the Supreme National Security Council. According to the Israeli statement, the forum for making decisions of the regime, the training institution for Iranian army officers, and other critical infrastructure were also hit. Israel claims the complex is one of the most heavily guarded sites in Iran and is used by the political and military leadership, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Furthermore, the complex is allegedly involved in managing Iran's nuclear program, as well as supporting and funding allied organizations. The attack was carried out after a “prolonged process of intelligence gathering and analysis” by military intelligence services. Israel describes the complex as the “most important and central administrative structure” of the Iranian regime, arguing that the strike will lead to the disorganization of command and control mechanisms. This attack represents a significant escalation in tensions between Israel and Iran, two countries that have been at odds for years. The consequences of the attack and Iran's reaction are expected to be closely monitored by the international community.
