Snowfall Closes Mountain Roads - Chains Required

Heavy snowfall has made several roads in the Cyprus mountains accessible only to vehicles equipped with anti-slip chains or four-wheel drive. According to the police, roads leading to Troodos (Platron – Troodos, Karvouna – Troodos, and Prodromou – Troodos), as well as the roads Palechori – Agrou, Farmaka – Odos, Fterikoudi – Alona – Platanistasas, Alona – Polystypos, Polystypos – Lagouderon, and Lagouderon – Chantrion require the use of chains or four-wheel drive. Police urge drivers to be extra careful, reduce speed, and maintain safe distances. Continuous patrols and checks are being carried out to monitor the condition of the road network.
