Neapolis University Hosts Elementary School Students in Robotics Workshop

Neapolis University Paphos hosted students from the 3rd grade of the 3rd Primary School of Limassol on an educational visit on January 26, 2026. The visit, part of the university's social contribution initiatives and the NUP-WiSTEM program, aimed to familiarize children with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), with a particular focus on encouraging girls' participation in these fields. The core of the activity was an interactive educational robotics workshop, specifically designed for elementary school students. Under the guidance of academic staff and students from the Department of Computer Science, the children had the opportunity to build their own robot using sensors and motors. Through this practical experience, the children learned basic principles of mechanics, robotics, and programming, while also enhancing collaboration, creative thinking, and active learning. This action promotes active participation and the practical application of knowledge. Additionally, the students toured the Smart City Laboratory of the Department of Computer Science, where they came into contact with applications of robotics, artificial intelligence, and smart infrastructure through play and experimentation. Neapolis University Paphos, through the NUP-WiSTEM team, is committed to continuing to implement educational activities that connect the university with society and support the development of skills from a young age.
