NATO Deploys Patriot Missile Defense System to Southeastern Turkey

NATO has deployed a Patriot missile defense system to the city of Malatya in southeastern Turkey, as part of enhanced air and missile defense measures due to rising tensions in the region. This deployment follows the deployment of two Wildcat helicopters and comes ahead of the departure of the aircraft carrier HMS Dragon. The Patriot system will contribute to the protection of Turkey's airspace and provide early warning of incoming missiles or drones. The Kurecik radar base in the area, which provides vital data for NATO, has already helped detect Iranian ballistic missiles. Turkey is in constant consultation with NATO and its allies to address security challenges in the region. The Turkish Ministry of Defense states that all necessary measures are being taken to protect the country's borders and airspace.
