The President of the Democratic Party (DIKO), Nikolas Papadopoulos, stated that his party will prove its critics wrong, emphasizing the importance of a strong economy for social welfare and the country's security. Speaking at an event in Polis Chrysochous, he praised the contribution of DIKO officials and referred to the negative political and social climate prevailing. He underlined that Cyprus has overcome economic difficulties and is in a better position than ever, with high growth rates and low unemployment, but challenges such as inflation still remain. Papadopoulos stressed the need to strengthen the welfare state and warned of the dangers of strengthening extremist political forces. He called on DIKO officials and friends to unite and rally, expressing confidence that the party will continue to contribute to the progress of Cyprus.
