Man to Stand Trial for Attempted Murder in Tersefanou

A 33-year-old man has been referred to direct trial before the Larnaca Criminal Court for attempted murder of a 40-year-old in Tersefanou on January 18th. The accused faces ten charges, including attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm, and burglary. According to the complaint, the 33-year-old broke into the 46-year-old's apartment, where he was with the victim, and attacked him with an axe, causing amputation of the left thumb, incomplete amputation of the right thumb and index finger, as well as multiple injuries. The 40-year-old is hospitalized at the General Hospital of Nicosia. The suspect will remain in custody until the start of the trial on March 12th.
