Turkey's 'Iron Dome' in Cyprus Raises Concerns in Athens and Nicosia

The deployment of Turkey's 'Iron Dome' air defense system in the northern part of Cyprus is causing concern in Athens and Nicosia. According to Turkish media, the system limits the operational capabilities of the Republic of Cyprus and alters the balance of power in the region. The system includes radars, electronic warfare systems, and air defense missiles, such as the Hisar-O, which are considered effective against helicopters and aircraft. Military analyst Yiannos Charalambides points out that the system renders the Republic of Cyprus' H145M helicopters essentially non-functional. Athens and Nicosia are closely monitoring the developments.
