Polar Vortex Grips US: At Least 21 Dead, Millions Without Power

A polar vortex has gripped the United States, causing at least 21 deaths and power outages for over 800,000 households. In the Great Lakes region, temperatures have dropped below -20 degrees Celsius, reaching as low as -30 degrees Celsius in some areas. Heavy snowfall, exceeding 30 centimeters in 20 states, has exacerbated the situation. Authorities are struggling to cope with the consequences, as many areas lack the resources to clear the snow and restore power. In Texas, one death was caused by a sledding accident, while in other states, deaths were attributed to hypothermia.
