Government Responds to Fuel Price Concerns and Tourism Impact

Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis addressed concerns about rising fuel prices and the impact on tourism, emphasizing that the situation is constantly being evaluated. He reminded that the government continues to subsidize electricity and maintain zero VAT on essential goods. He noted that Cyprus has some of the lowest fuel prices in the European Union, but is closely monitoring developments and will make decisions as needed. Regarding tourism, he assured that normalcy in the country is maintained despite regional crises and that the majority of flight schedules have returned, expressing optimism for the current year.
