Changes to Traffic Camera Fines and Offenses in Cyprus

New regulations regarding fines for running red lights at traffic camera intersections came into effect in Cyprus on March 6th. According to Traffic Police Sub-Inspector Tasos Asikkis, the fine for running a red light in a pedestrian crossing has been reduced from €300 to €85, while maintaining the three penalty points. This change aims to grade the offense, with stricter penalties for violations beyond the pedestrian crossing. Violating the stop line remains at a €25 fine without penalty points. The new regulations are not retroactive.
