There is significant interest in information sessions regarding the new tax reform in Cyprus, with over 8,000 people expressing their desire to participate in presentations and informational events. The Tax Commissioner, Sotiris Markidis, stated that the Tax Department has already begun a series of presentations, both in person and online, in collaboration with various organizations such as KEVE, OEB, SELK, and trade unions. The purpose of the presentations is to focus on the main changes introduced by the reform, which came into effect on January 1, 2026. In addition, the Tax Department has posted extensive material on its website, including forms, application guides, frequently asked questions, examples, and an income tax calculation tool. Mr. Markidis emphasized that the reform will provide tax benefits to all taxpayers who were obliged to pay income tax in previous years and urged the public to carefully study the available material.
