Large YKAN Operation in Larnaca: Drugs and Weapons Seized, 9 Arrested

YKAN (Cyprus Drug and Anti-Narcotics Unit) conducted a large-scale operation in Larnaca, involving 27 members, aimed at identifying and arresting members of criminal groups involved in drug trafficking. During the operation, nine individuals were arrested and significant quantities of drugs were seized, including 400 grams of cocaine and 150 grams of cannabis. Additionally, weapons were found and confiscated, such as a pistol with a silencer and a firearm, as well as a significant amount of money (€9,605) and three vehicles. The operation was targeted and based on previous investigations and surveillance. Searches were carried out in homes, properties, and vehicles, with the aim of collecting evidence to dismantle criminal networks. YKAN Larnaca continues its investigations, while a financial investigation will also be conducted to determine the origin of the seized funds and the extent of the criminal activities. This operation is part of YKAN's efforts to combat crime and drug trafficking in Cyprus. YKAN has intensified its efforts in recent months, conducting frequent operations in various areas of Cyprus. The goal is to protect society and prevent the spread of drugs. The arrested individuals are expected to appear in court to answer the charges against them. YKAN will continue to cooperate with the competent authorities for the effective fight against crime and the protection of citizens.
