Το Υπουργείο Εσωτερικών, σε συνεννόηση με τις άλλες αρμόδιες κρατικές Αρχές, εξέτασε τα δεδομένα όπως διαμορφώνονται τις τελευταίες μέρες στην περιοχή Ακρωτηρίου.
Σύμφωνα με την αξιολόγηση που έγινε, αποφασίστηκε ότι, στην παρούσα φάση, το καθεστώς εκκένωσης στην περιοχή Ακρωτηρίου δεν θα παραταθεί. Για την απόφαση έχουν ήδη ενημερωθεί ο Δήμαρχος Κουρίου και ο Αντιδήμαρχος Ακρωτηρίου.
Παρά τη λήξη της κατάστασης εκκένωσης, η περιοχή παραμένει σε αυξημένη ετοιμότητα και η εικόνα θα επαναξιολογείται συνεχώς, με στόχο την έγκαιρη λήψη μέτρων, εφόσον παραστεί νέα ανάγκη. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, ομάδες της Πολιτικής Άμυνας παραμένουν προληπτικά και συνεχίζουν να περιπολούν στην περιοχή.

End to Evacuation Regime in Akrotiri – Residents Return
The Ministry of Interior has decided not to extend the evacuation regime in the Akrotiri area, after assessing the data in recent days. The decision was made in consultation with other relevant state authorities and the Mayor of Kourion and the Deputy Mayor of Akrotiri have already been informed. Despite the end of the evacuation, the area remains on high alert and the situation will be continuously reassessed, so that measures can be taken promptly if necessary. Teams from the Civil Defence remain in the area for preventive patrols. The decision to return residents marks a return to normality for the Akrotiri area, however vigilance remains high. The government is committed to closely monitoring the situation and taking the necessary measures to protect residents.
