Pension Reform, Energy, and Water Issues at the Forefront of Presidential Meetings

President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, held a series of meetings at the Presidential Palace focusing on three key areas: pension reform, energy policy, and the water issue. The pension reform meeting discussed the goals of the reform, such as ensuring adequate pensions and the sustainability of the system, as well as the implementation timeline. Regarding the water issue, the discussion centered on addressing the prolonged drought and utilizing solutions such as desalination plants and water recycling. Concerning energy, the progress of energy plans was examined, including the LNG terminal in Vasilikos and the commercial exploitation of natural gas deposits in the Cypriot EEZ. Furthermore, an upcoming ministerial visit to the UAE for cooperation on energy and water projects was discussed.
