Oil Prices Show Volatility – Slight Increase Observed

Oil prices are experiencing volatility, with a slight increase today amid uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. The April WTI contract is up 0.97% at $84.18 a barrel, while the May Brent contract gains 0.34% to $88.10 a barrel. Earlier, crude oil had risen by as much as 5% following a warning from Donald Trump to Iran, however prices retreated after Trump's statement that the war is “almost” over. The initial rise had led to panic in the market, with WTI and Brent approaching $120 and $120 respectively, before the escalation of tensions between the US and Iran on February 28. The situation remains fluid and prices volatile.
