Factory Owner and Executives Arrested After Tragic Incident in Trikala

Following the tragic incident at the "Violanta" factory in Trikala, where five female workers lost their lives, the factory owner and two other company executives have been arrested. The owner is charged with manslaughter, explosion, arson, and bodily harm. Initial findings suggest the tragedy was caused by a gas leak and a powerful explosion in the furnace area. Investigations are ongoing, with the factory still smoking after the large fire. Reports indicate that the factory had a fire safety study submitted electronically in September 2025. The fire broke out on Monday morning, after an explosion in the building's basement.
