Cyprus and India Discuss Middle East, Strategic Partnership

Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos met with his Indian counterpart, Dr. S. Jaishankar, in Brussels to discuss the situation in the Middle East, Cyprus-India relations, and EU-India relations. Kombos emphasized the importance of diplomacy and dialogue for de-escalation and stability in the region. The two ministers referred to the strategic partnership between Cyprus and India, as well as the recent EU-India Summit and the completion of the Free Trade Agreement. They also discussed the concerning developments in the Middle East. Kombos is participating in the EU Foreign Affairs Council, where the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, and issues concerning the EU's Southern Neighborhood will be discussed. An informal working lunch with the Indian Foreign Minister will also take place within the framework of the Council.
