Cyprus Participates in INTERPOL Operation – 4,414 Potential Victims Protected

Cyprus participated in a global INTERPOL operation, “Liberterra III,” held between November 10th and 21st, 2025, aimed at combating human trafficking and illegal immigration. The operation, involving 119 countries, resulted in the identification and protection of 4,414 potential victims of human trafficking and 12,992 irregular migrants. A total of 3,744 suspects were arrested, with over 1,800 linked to human trafficking and migrant smuggling offenses. The Cyprus Police conducted checks at airports and along the green line, identifying 55 irregular migrants and arresting three individuals for using false travel documents. The INTERPOL Secretary General emphasized the importance of cooperation and the need to adapt to the evolving tactics of criminal networks.
