The Cypriot Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panagiotou, presented the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the field of agriculture to the AGRI Committee of the European Parliament. The main pillars are sustainable agriculture, innovation, the adoption of new technologies and targeted funding to strengthen the resilience of the agri-food sector. Cyprus faces particular challenges due to its geopolitical position, climate change and an aging agricultural population. The Presidency is committed to delivering results, taking into account current international tensions and the war in Ukraine.
